I decided to investigate every food on my final list of those that would help me lose weight and keep it off for years in order to research all of their advantages and ensure that I would get all the vitamins and minerals I needed from them. Whether at all possible, I wanted to stay away from supplements and see if I could have any negative side effects from being deficient in a vitamin or mineral. Additionally, I wanted to see if I needed to exclude any of them due to a negative circumstance. For instance, excessive consumption of goitrogens from raw cruciferous vegetables combined with a low iodine diet might lead to low thyroid. Some may experience arthritis issues from eating nightshade vegetables. Stomach issues may be triggered by legumes.



I carefully examined every item on my list before deciding to label this diet a superfoods diet. The majority of people relate the word "superfoods" to some type of exotic berry, such as Acai, Goji, or Noni. Although those berries are fantastic and packed with antioxidants, you can't survive on them. Think about everyday superfoods like spinach, broccoli, quinoa, olive oil, garlic, kale, salmon, and ginger when I talk about them. In general, think of food that is good for you and has health advantages.


I also wanted to follow a diet that would regulate my cravings and appetite. Some individuals might believe that calorie tracking is the only factor, but they fail to account for desire and cravings, and I wanted to be sure I didn't have any. Although circulating saturated fatty acids, or triglycerides as they are known in the lipid panel, are a significant risk factor for heart disease, the majority of these fatty acids are virtually always produced by the liver and are a byproduct of a diet heavy in refined carbohydrates.


Insulin and cortisol's hormonal impacts can affect some persons more easily than others. You are more prone to gain weight the more sensitive you are. The main hormone that keeps fat in fat cells is insulin. Diabetes Type I patients lose weight because their insulin production is insufficient. You won't be able to store fat if you don't eat carbohydrates because insulin is produced in direct response to them.

I reduced my weight from 275 pounds (125 kg) to 195 pounds (89 kg) at the beginning of 2010 after 8–9 months on the Superfoods diet. I made the decision to put off further weight loss until I felt and looked better. My weight has since fluctuated between 195 pounds (89 kg) and 210 pounds (95 kg) and back. And in March 2014, I made the decision to try to lose 195 pounds and blog about the process. But my research ended up becoming a book because I wanted to share everything about the Superfoods diet. I am 180 pounds (82 kg) at the time of this writing in June 2014, and I hope to weigh less than 180 pounds in the coming months. The Superfoods diet made everyone in my family feel better, and my wife lost some weight (I'm not permitted to say how much) as a result. Since then, her waistline has been perfect.

Along with the processed foods and sweets you have in your pantry and freezer, if you're getting ready to go on a diet, be sure to remove the following items from your refrigerator:


• All juices, including orange and apple, are processed foods.


• Any frozen, premade meals that are "low-fat."


Check the sugar, protein, fat, and fiber content of any protein or granola bars before eating them. Margarine. Some may be suitable for snacking, although they have


to be low in sugar and fat and high in protein and fiber.


• Any processed meat without sugar, excluding ham (ham is OK for first one or two weeks) Pasta and any dessert on a diet.


• Diet soda may be acceptable for the first week or two while your body may still need sugar, but you should make a plan to cease using it once the cravings go away.
